Then I saw Lilja 4-ever,the story of 16 year old living in former Soviet Union who decides to move to Sweeden in search for a better life. Compelling and uncomfortable to watch at times, Moodysoon dive us in Lilja's journey that goes from bad to absolute hell. Report card: Amazing, it tears you apart!

After my two positive experiences, I was exited when I heard about MAMMOTH his latest movie, I became even more exited when I learned that one of my favorite actors, Gael Garcia Bernal was in it. To my surprise IFC on demand had it the same day it premiere in theaters, so what else could i ask for? Well, what about some CONTENT? I sit for two hours to watch a movie that at times it seemed a tedious version of Babel but with the difference that nothing much happens. Let me rephrase that: nothing at all happens.
Plot: A couple with a little daughter, who are always working (she's a surgeon and he's running a gaming site on the Internet) have a nanny from the Philippines. He goes to Thailand to sign a big contract. During the trip, his partner gives him a $3000 pen decorated with pieces of mammoth ivory. In Thailand, Bernal travels around and meets a young prostitute and starts hanging out with her. But the whole time, he keeps calling his family in New York, which he misses. Williams works and works and feels bad when a young boy, stabbed with a knife, dies during surgery. And the nanny thinks of her sons - while they're in the Philippines thinking of her.....and that's it! That's the movie! I respect if film critics find poetry in the photography, more existential content or other deep stuff but I didn't. I'll never re-watch it and I can't find any reason at all to tell a friend to see it. Report card: It was boring like hell!
