TEDX

TED is a nonprofit event that started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design to discuss ideas worth spreading. On December 4th, this event took place for the first time in Atlanta, GA and I had the privilege to work as a volunteer because it was held at my school SCAD. The event was streamed live with 3 cameras. Two of my classmates and me worked the switcher with the guidance of our professor who was the technical director. He was instructing the camera operators to set up the shots he needed, and was telling us when to switch between cameras. The switcher is the heart of the multi-camera shoot, it's a device that switches the video signal from one camera to another, it also performs other duties like transition effects.
